China Mobile, ZTE, E-Plus Team up for LTE Trial

China Mobile and ZTE signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Germany's E-Plus Group for participating in E-Plus's TD-LTE (Time Division-Long Term Evolution) field trial, according to a February 18, 2011 report by the Telecom Asia. The trial is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2011. As per the MOU, China Mobile is expected to provide technical supports, while ZTE is projected to supply FDD (Frequency Division Duplex)-LTE and TD-LTE base stations developed on the SDR (Software-Defined Radio) platform.
